Nothing breaks up a nice slow news weekend like some delightful handmade video game crafts. Kotakuite CaptainSquishy points us to his girlfriend's blog where she has documented the making of these cute Mario Mushrooms that she knitted for the Captain's desk at his new job. According to her, they are fairly simple to make and don't take a ton of materials. If you'd like to make some of your own, Mrs. Squishy has kindly provided instructions that you can download here. Something about seeing those cute little guys out in a field just makes me smile.

Those are cute.
And maybe it's just me, but you could probably take the design for the Red one, alter the texture colors for the top, and create a cupcake to go along with your knitted cube.
And anybody who says my cupcake idea is a lie gets punched in the face.

I was looking for some mushroom stools for my new apartment, but everytime I found one I always thought "something is lacking here".
