Premiere cap manufacturer New Era is getting into the video game thing in a major way it would seem, as the follow up line to their Pac-Man series of fitted hats is an even wider Space Invaders collection. Seven caps, each with embroidered classic Space Invaders graphics, make up the line and each run about 6000 yen (somewhere near $55 US). They're currently available at Japanese retailer Cap Collector and will match well with your expensive Space Invaders Porter luggage in the same vein. Somehow I don't think Taito is done commercially exploiting the game's thirtieth anniversary quite yet.

Would be nice if they offered these hats via US retailers.
Now, I KNOW this was posted before.
*Stupid* It was pac-man last time.
I would maybe buy one of these was it not for the 96% chance that I would be beaten whilst walking home.
Well, its less tacky than most retro game apparel.
That thing on the top of the brim is a removable sticker, right?
Because if so, that's actually a pretty mice hat.
@Moonshadow101: Sorry, no "dupe" bounty for you! :)
@Kirbytheslayer: Proud Norwegian Defense Force Supporter: I want a pretty mice hat! Yes, that sticker is removable. WARNING: your street cred warranty will be voided.
@Kirbytheslayer: Proud Norwegian Defense Force Supporter: You don't remove the sticker. It's a fiftynine fifty hat.
guitar playing japanese pop stars are stoked
$55 bucks???? They kewl but.... pass....
@McWhertor: Wait...there's a dupe bounty?
You guys owe me a lot of back pay then. I haven't gotten paid for a single dupe that I've caught.
I meant "nice" hat, and you know it. Stop picking on my typos. Wahh!!! *Goes to his room crying*
I know that we discussed the flat bill of the hats in the last comment section, but since then I have wondered: In Japan, do they wear them straight or do they curve them like most Americans? If they curve them, is there any reason why the hats are not already curved, since most hats that I see that are not pre-curved are cheap poorly made hats?
@kingofallcosmos: New Era caps are far from being poorly made.
@y2julio:QFT
@y2julio:
I didn't say that and I didn't mean to imply that, especially since it was established in the previous post. I hope that you know which hats I am referring to, the ones that are usually $5-8 dollars, and are very poorly made. I have had about 80 ballcaps of varying levels of quality and I would say that the majority of good ones are precurved. My questions about Japanese cap wearing are still out there.
All new era fitteds come with the uncurved brim, they're probably the best quality fitteds around. The new trend though, is to leave them unbent anyway.
@kingofallcosmos: You have 80 caps? That's some serious dedication. Please say you've got a headhumper among that collection.
Rrgh. Wide-brim hats look stupid on EVERYONE.
@Mavwick:
and those sided ones too.
do they ship in Canada ?
I think so...
I'm not sure.
Can someone confirm this to me ?
If not , is there any other way to order one =|
One: It's clothing, you don't leave the tag on clothing.
Two: This whole absurd mess of not bending the brim is ridiculous. It's like when men and weomen used to powder their skin to make it seem as if they never went outside or did any actual work. A good cap is meant to be a broken-in, comfortable standby, not a non-functional pristine accessory.
Three: These hats are insanely tacky. People are going to start comparing us to stereotypical Nascar fans and the things they wear. Apologies to any Nascar fans out there who go without the tacky paraphernalia.
