No mincing little one or two-figure update here. No, this is the entirety of McFarlane's second series of Halo 3 figures, and contains a number of first-time sculpts. Sure, we get another Master Chief, and more Spartans, and the Arbiter, who we've already seen, but joining them are a ton of new faces. Like an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper. And a Brute Stalker. And a Drone. These aren't due for another few months (June), but you can check out shots of each below. Press release with full info (weapons, articulation, etc) is after the jump.
January 10, 2008 Copyright 2008 TMP International, Inc.In a licensing agreement with Microsoft, McFarlane Toys is producing action figures based on the video game series Halo®. Last few week we dazzled you with photos of the Arbiter (see it here). Now we're proud to bring you the Series 2 Master Chief, Spartans, ODST Soldier and Brute Stalker.
MASTER CHIEF
Thought to be the last surviving SPARTAN soldier, Master Chief possesses a unique trait that has made him both a hero and symbol of hope in the eyes of humanity, and a "demon" in the minds of his enemies. That trait? A rare combination of skill and luck that has seen him through many battles, including the destruction of two HALO installations.Now, with the Covenant forces edging ever closer to their hallowed, and cataclysmic "final journey," it once again falls upon the Chief's mighty shoulders to take the fight to his enemies.
McFarlane Toys' Master Chief's weapons can attach to his leg and back, and also feature:
* 18 points of articulation
* 2 weapons, interchangeable between figures
* Removable helmet, chest and shoulder armor
* Weapon storage capability on back and right thighSPARTAN
There are fighters, and then there are soldiers. There are warriors, and then there are SPARTANS. The elite of the elite, humanity's greatest fighting force - and greatest weapon against the hated armies of the Covenant. The unique men and women, hand-picked at a young age to take place in the clandestine SPARTAN program were transformed through science and trained for one thing - victory.Armor Variations:

Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (ODST) are an elite branch of the United Nations Space Command (UNSC) special forces. Comprised of an all-volunteer fighting force of some of the bravest men the UNSC has to offer, the ODST have served valiantly in many campaigns against the Covenant, including engagements on three separate HALO installations.* 18 points of articulation
* Weapon: Battle rifleBRUTE STALKER
Be mindful of your surroundings, for one never knows when one is being hunted. Invisible to all but the keenest of eyes, Brute Stalkers use light-bending technology known as active camouflage to approach their prey undetected, before unleashing destruction upon their unsuspecting enemies.* 15 points of articulation
* Weapon storage on back
* Weapon: Spike rifle and carbineDRONE
Another weapon in the mighty Covenant arsenal, Drones (or "buggers") are insect-like warriors that attack in swarms — the buzzing static of their wings offering the only warning of their approach. Drones are dangerous opponents in any battle, as their ability to fly offers them many angles from which to attack, and their erratic flight patterns make for difficult targets.* 12 points of articulation
* Wings fold up and down
* Weapon: Plasma pistolARBITER
Though considered a high commander of the Elites, the Arbiter lost his honor among the Prophets when he failed to protect the first HALO. Disillusioned by the reason behind the Covenant's war against humanity, the Arbiter leads the Elites when they align with the UNSC.This former foe to Master Chief is ready to finish the fight with the Spartan soldier against the Covenant forces, and the continued threat of the Flood.
* Weapons: Energy sword and carbine rifle
* 18 points of articulation
* Weapon storage capability: On leg and backRead about McFarlane Toys' licensing agreement with Microsoft to produce Halo® action figures here.

Halo Series 2 figures are scheduled to be in stores June 2008.

Those are totally hot.
there is no recon toy
Oh man I gotta get the Scout Tan one!
These are real nice :)
The designs are fantastic but I'm a little put off by the texture of the plastic. It's not as cheesy as the 3rd series where you could tell it was cheap plastic but the texture just seems off on all the photos. Maybe it's just the photos. I look forward to seeing them first hand though.
Ah geeze. I needs me that sniper rifle...
Is it just me, or do the Covenant weapons - especially the sword - look disproportionately small?
I like the red one.
i want the scout one with katana sword on back.
I wish MacFarlane would give something like Silent Hill a shot. Or just go back to doing stuff like Tortured Souls, the designers are far too good to be wasted on uninspired games like these, as well as the sports/military ranges they've been putting out recently. All a bit too Tom Clancy.
I want either Arby or the Brute Stalker.
Does anyone here knows Todd McFarlane draws better than producing action figures?
I would pick up the scout armor if it wasn't tan - bleh - I didn't see the Recon armor though - just EVA and CQB
ODST for the win. And the plastic does look iffy, but it has that rugged (beat and worn) texture similar to the Halo 3 Bloomkamp short-films.
But still, these are all sculpts, and hopefully the final plastic versions will be nice.
And since they're McFarlane toys, they'll break as soon as you take them out of the box for realistic death action! If you want to respawn, that's another 20 bucks, please.
@multimoog: You take figures out of the packaging?! :o HERESY!
it would be so cool to see a figure decked out in the hayabusa armor.
Wow, its kinda funny that there(seemingly) is more variation in the toys than in the enemies in the game.
Also these figures seem to have more personality than the characters in the game.
@Jaysius: That is because the character design in the game leaves much to be desired (Bland! sci-fi by numbers western kack). If the didn't spice it up a little it wouldn't be much of a toy...
@gamestoremanager:
What are you talking about, thats exactly what they look like in the game. Seriously, have you ever even played it?
@gray665: It's a good game mate... (finished it on leg. on first week of purchase look it up if you want. gamer tag Lewis Camel) I'm talking about the charecter design. It's pap. The characters ain't much to look at nor the toys. Only true "fan boys" could appreciate these poor figures. Feel free to plough more money into this franchise and feed the Microsoft fire... LOL bit extreme. Sorry dude just don't like em.
I gotta agree.. albeit they are pretty neat, something just doesn't do it for me. That plastic look just makes me cringe >.>
i'm not big on the whole halo thing but i REALLY want the master chief figure. it would look nice next to my big daddy figure =D
it would be nice for them to just release a single spartan and then release armor packs so you can dress it up to match your multiplayer character. same for elites...wait...there are no elites. apparently they think the arbiter is the only one. or they just get no love like usual.
@gamestoremanager:
I was responding to the "spice it up" line. I wouldnt buy these either but they are a pretty accurate representation of the in game models used.
@gray665: And I say they don't... Let's agree to disagree. I love opinions...
Removable helmet for the chief!?
I'm waiting for the Hayabusa Action figure.
I'm grabbing that odst right when it comes out. Last time i tried to find an odst figure they were like "No!" And i was like "Dam."
That EVA suit is choice.
@fiendman666: Barbie and John 117 in the new pink convertible!!
??? Mcfarlene toys and not one of them is in S&M gear??
"Like an Orbital Shock Trooper. And a Brute Stalker. And a Drone. And a Spartan in the much-fancied recon armor."
I see no recon armor... Luke do you mean the scout armor?!?
my fave is the Orbital Shock Trooper, I want that armor ingame including the blue face plate instead of that ugly ass gold.
The ODSTs look awesome...
And the Chief, of course.
Power Rangers: Halo Edition.
wait ... they dont have the Hayabusa armor?!?!
Whoa... for a sec I thought the EVA had a Sniper on his back (in addition to his Beam Rifle) and I shook me head at the poor weapon choice. But it must be an AR.
