Sick of the rumours and conjecture flying about the place over LittleBigPlanet's release date, Sony have decided to confirm that Media Molecule's ambitious user-generated platformer will be launching in September. Which is aaaaages away! Then again, as my momma always (never really) says, a late release date's better than no release date at all. Especially since it gives them another nine months of spitting and polishing.

NOOO!!! to long. ohh well at least we can look forward to this game right
guys oh yeah *high five*
Wait is launching worldwide because I talked to my friend and he told me that's the new thing. World Wide Launch Confirmed
Weren't they going to release it on the PSN before it gets a disc release? If so, which is this?
There is no curse word foul enough to express my discontent.
9 months from now? It truly is Sony's baby!
Oh well. I'll forget about this by that time.
Better than not having a release date, no? Honestly, September sounds a little late in the year... is GTAIV coming out around then?
Hmmm...perhaps they shouldnt have hyped this game up so much from so far back. 8 months is quite some time away...
Maybe by then one of my friends will own a PS3...
This is what I hate about Sony. They hype up a game so much and when all seems that a release is inevitable, they immediately put it off in an instant. I'm already tired of waiting for Killzone 2 and now this? Sigh... oh well at least we know when it comes out now.
@Witzbold: Agreed. Remember how Final Fantasy XII was? By the time it came out, the hype had already peaked and then crashed back down. Of course, I still bought it (loved it), but I'm sure it would've sold a lot better if SE had waiter longer to announce it.
@ceilingFANBOY: timmaythesped (PSN):
I'm the father of the baby
sheeesh thats a long time
I don't get how you can have a showoffable demo ready with release date that far. how about release what youve got, and give us free DLC till september, at which point allow user generated objects.
Hopefully I get into the public beta, and hell maybe PS3 will be $350 around by September.
Well, I have a crapload of games to catch up on, plus the new games that are coming out these next few months...I can wait.
Im so angry.....i can....i can.....just BREAK SOMETHING!!! grrrr!
damn...that is too damn long. MGS4 and GTA4 better NOT be delayed to the holiday schedule or I will be pissed!
@Spiffyness: I don't necessarily agree, there was still a lot of hype when FFXII came out. I had to stand in ta pretty big line to get it...
But yeah, hopefully Home will come out before this!
@Keegs79: If MGS4 isn't out by may I'm not responsible for what I do.
I would imagine this has something in part to do with the desire to integrate it with Home so you can upload share levels. Since Home isn't out yet or near completion, maybe this is why? The game certainly looks 60% there vs 10% to require a Sept launch
Stop releasing video's every freaking week then, you bastards. Seeing this game in action and being reminded of my inability to play it every 350 hours is getting on my freaking nerves.
Dicks...
Nice, that gives me until September to buy a ps3
ok ill be getting a ps3 in sept. then
@Shindokie (psn and xbl): You manwhore!
@PapaBear434:
Dont be jealous. Wait i am jealous as well :(
God i can not wait for this. It sucks that I have to wait until Sept to buy it.
@ceilingFANBOY: timmaythesped (PSN):
I'm a proud whore... *struts his stuff*
I would be truly saddened if this year didn't sound like it has some killer games between now and then. I mean, in between now and then, we have:
DMC4
MGS4
GTA4 (hmmmm, seeing a trend here....)
GT5P
...and other games with acronyms!!!
Not to mention all of the other in-betweens that will be good rentals....
I wonder what other games will be coming out this? I assume starting late spring early summer is when the ps3 will shine.
PS3:2008.
The Year of the delay.
NINE MONTHS?!?!? I could make a baby in that time!
I guess I can wait for the game instead of having a kid.
@asianmacker: Break something? Why go to the trouble! Buy a 360, and it does it for you!
@PlayerX: Or you could do both, you lazy lackwit.
I'm willing to wait. The more spread-out my monetary spending is, the better. November-February is killing me.
@Shindokie (psn and xbl): I shall call you Deuce Bigalow.
@ceilingFANBOY: timmaythesped (PSN):
You shall call me DAD! *slap*
@Maldron:
Shush you. You might Jinx it and i will hate you FOREVER!
As I said before, think of it this way:
The longer the wait = the more PS3's sold
The more PS3's sold = the copies purchased
The more copies purchased = the larger LBP community
Bigger community = better chances of a viable successful game
I know many want this now, but I'm glad it's coming out later. Plus they get to polish it up like crazy. It sounds nearly done already, just imagine what these 9 months will provide.
@Shindokie (psn and xbl):
Hey, ets meh secs bocks an er name is Sony.
8 months should give them plenty of time to find another trailer BGM. I have to say, that Go! Team song's getting a little worn.
*Cries in a corner* - but remembers all the other things in 2008 that are coming up
Media Molecule: Sony, I'm pregnant, and you're the father.
Sony: Oh #%&@!
Confirmed by Eurogamer? So is this a worldwide release date or a European release date?
@Shijirou: I personnaly would rather not have another Lair. Instead of rushing titles (lair, warhawk), they should be giving titles as much time as they need to produce quality results. So they can be a delightful and fulfilling from the start rather then a month later when its finnaly patched. Same goes for home..i want something that works and is worth the wait.
@PlayerX: Hey now that brings bad memories for me D:
To All: Remember guys, September is usually a slow gaming release month so at least something that is time consuming (assuming it is) like LBP might be a good thing... Or I'm just saying that to make myself feel better.
*Goes back to the corner and cries again*
I welcome this as a good news. At least now it's confirmed.
@Shindokie (psn and xbl): Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!
@Troyd: I don't think the issues for either of those games were due to being rushed. Lair's issue is just that you are forced to use the sixaxis controls, so if you don't like them, you're not going to like the game. Warhawk's issues were network issues, which is nothing surprising and difficult to deal with without the game being released to spot all the network errors.
@goldwings: Normally, I wouldn't be so down on the 360, 'cause it has a coupla games I wanna play; but, my brother's just busted last month. His was like the oldest 360 in existence, and it's gone.
@ceilingFANBOY: timmaythesped (PSN):
did you not see the simpson's episode. Jerry can't decide because i'm an ALIEN :O
@VishusBurn:
Yes sony something butt. Har har.
That is a giant poop sandwich. Poor PS3... you coulda been a contender kid.
it seems like a long time but really, Sony just let us see the game way too early in its development that it seems like weve been waiting forever when really its taking no longer than any other game.
Why do I get the feeling that we are the only people who care about this game and when it finally gets launched the average consumer is not going to even nknow it exists?
