how many times do they have to say "exclusive"? in the TV spots it shows it and says "Playstation 3 exclusive" same with Haze. people are just too damn stupid anymore to realize that it's on PS3 only.

Its the final of the MGS franchise so this will be a PS3 exclusive as a way for Kojima thanking Sony for the success of the franchise.

The whole Assassin's Creed thing...wasn't that "PS3 Exclusive" business just that it was being exclusively announced for the PS3? Hell, no one from Ubi would say that there's no 360 version in the works, there were rumors flying that the version at E3 was on a 360 AND the game had already been mentioned or shown in some form at X05 (if I remember right...which I may not).

I'd like to check out MGS4, but it's not going to sell me on a system. I'm actually just getting around to Eternal Darkness (it's in my pile) which is one game I REALLY wanted to check out on the Cube.

I just don't think the non-MGS junkies will buy a console to play it. Sure, Konami could get their million or so sales and more over time, but I really don't think any new customers will be heading their way with this title only on the PS3.

I'm not desperate to play it, but I'd enjoy the chance. By not releasing MGS on as many viable platforms as possible (maybe the 360 isn't viable, I don't know how development was handled), Konami is more or less giving up on expanding their customer base.

It's like Halo, now that Bungie is independant. I'd be absolutely shocked if Bungie didn't release the first possible Halo game (I'm sure MS secured first dibs, publishing-wise, on one or two Bungie-developer Halo titles) on all viable platforms.

To discount millions of possible customers in this console cycle just seems boneheaded...unless someone is paying you a metric ****ton for exclusivity. Hell, look at what MS had to pay for GTA4 DLC. There were exclusives all over the place for the 360 before and leading upto the PS3 launch...I don't see MS or Sony getting anything like that again this gen.

Well, truthfully, none of the MGS's have been console exclusive but the improved versions on separate consoles never sell as well as the PS version thats released first. Make no mistake, Konami needs money and they have no special respect for Sony that would outdo their need to make their shareholders happy, but on the other hand its been in development for the PS3 from the very beginning and trying to retool it for the 360 might be hard. Either way, I love the series and I will be buying it on the PS3 when it comes out. All of the fanboys on both sides should chill out on the issue.

whatever, i won't be surprised if it does hit xbox a year and a half later..look at the pattern konami follows with this shit. they keep it exclusive for a year or so, make you really believe it's a fact, introduce a brand new game in the franchise, then make the previous game non-exclusive to fuck with your head some more and make more bucks. snake eater/subsistence remained on ps2 and never graced the xbox, but if they ever plan on making new metal gears without "solid" in the title, they'll probably be multi-plat. porting GoTP to xbox would be a good idea to "introduce" xboxers to a new take on the future of metal gear. we'll see though.

One other note ph15h, my best friend didn't have a PS3. He had a 360 and a PS2 but wanted a 60GB for B/C. He went to Circuit City and they didn't have any - only 80s and 40s. He asked if they were certain. They checked and a store 3 hours away had 2. He bought it and they shipped it to that store. This was a week ago.
