Normally, "humorous" clips that involve executives showing off their acting chops are nothing short of cringe-worthy, an exercise in amateur comic timing. Not this fictional video of Bill Gates' last day of full responsibilities at Microsoft, however, as the solid cameos and moments that capitalize on Bill's inherent geekiness make the head Borg at MS seem hilariously human. Stick around for Bill's blippy wailing on a Guitar Hero II controller. This clip, courtesy of our brothers at Gizmodo, represents but a grain of sand in the vast desert that is their CES 2008 coverage.

It's still strange to think of Bill gates no longer being at Microsoft. Well, I guess they've been conditioning us for this for awhile now. When was it announced he was leaving? Two years ago?
man the audio is bad! I'm trying to hear it and stuff and it doesn't sound good. BUt yeah i watched it earlier and its a funny way to end your last CES. Good job Bill!
LOVED this!
Seen it. Loved it. Jay Z part is funny.
Not a fan of bill gates, but i saw this last night. it was hilarious! lol.
Wow, I was actually entertained by that, but it cut off john stewart. The part with Jay-Z was truly horrible and hilarious.
Billie G, god what a sex symbol.
Pleasantly surprised at how funny this actually was. But why cut off Stewart? Regardless, nice to see Mr Gates can have a laugh at his own expense - more than most people with his wealth can do.
Wait a minute? Bill Gates drives a Blue Ford Focus?
WTH?
Bill's got guts!!! LOVE IT!!!
It's really good to see that M$ will continue to be the company we all know and love /hate even after Bill takes it easy.. I have respect for that.
Being both a mac and pc user, I have to ask: will Apple be the same after Steve 'takes it easy'?
Anyone else notice that he drove with the bag on top of his car?
I can't believe people find this funny.
That was absolutely brilliant.
Was he playing the mario theme?
Sounded like he was playing the Mario theme in Guitar Hero.
@BD:
Your sense of humor fails :(
Wow, that was actually funny. He's really "retiring"?
@elint6:
Did you also notice that Bill Gates is in the video?
Him walking off the stage at the Daily Show was kinda funny, don't they tell you what you are supposed to do and rehearse it? Funnier is the Daily Show's "simulation" of what happened afterwards backstage. I loved the Napolean Dynamite reel they did previously.
That's not the full video... There's another 3 minutes.
Luckily I watched it elsewhere earlier today. I loved it, super funny, Bill Gates is a class act and I'm sure he'll be greatly missed.
Guitar DID sound like Mario...odly enough =P
largest budget short flim in the history of man kind.
@ darknessmyoldfriend
Touché, my friend. But, alas, you fail.
"Big pimpin', I'm Bill G!"
Damn, that was funny as hell.
That Daily Show bit, it looked like he was almost crunched by those revolving walls.
He's just a nice guy.
@elint6: How did he fail? He owned you pretty good.
The first one sounded like the mario theme, the second when he was outside of the window made me think of the old sitcom "Green Acres".
Hilarious!
Ha, yeah it was pretty good, even better were all of those celebrity cameos.
This was surprisingly funny. Too bad the video cut out just when they got to Jon Stewart.
He played the "riff" to the Green Acres song I think?
I watched this earlear today, and laughed my ass off. I like the workout skit with Mathew McConaughey. Funny stuff.
lol to hilarious.
wow....that game really is as lame as I thought....
oh man, too stoned.......I guess that totally failed...I meant to say this guy...as in bill gates' ho ass. what a tool...someone slap that dude and tell him he is a big ol' dork.....just like they used to do in his HS days.
This clip misses quite a bit in the end. To see it all (in better quality too) check this out: [www.microsoft.com]
And fast forward to 10:50.
That was great lol
"Big pimpin" XD
yeah, someones gotta tell him.....yep, tell him hes a joke..LOL @ all the lame cameos made in this vid......wow, couldn't they pay to get people that are actually cool n stuff?
Boner, I mean bono, no wait, I do mean boner....god that guy is super lame.........figures he would show up in this god awful video.
George Clooney? Really? man, this is so hagard.....hah, he is retiring cause he knows HDDVD is about to fall flat on its face and he's trying to not look like such a dork....man, even that annoying/lame/ugly/terribly acting guy from Napoleon Dynamite is in this......just awful, just completely awful.
XD Good oh him, He has a sense of humor after all.
Why not the whole thing guys? The bit with Al Gore really made me chuckle - and I ain't a chuckler.
@sir_blazeAlot:I got your opinion the first time. Is there some reason I have to keep reading posts from you criticizing this clip? Tool.
Good to see that the aspergers isn't controlling his life, this was pretty funny. Can only wonder if he had it planned himself or his pr crew came up with it, either way it was a good view on him.
I liked his movie where he hung out with Napoleon Dynamite better.
The matrix one with him and ballmer was great!
Ah steve, we hardly knew ye. Enjoy your retirement, and golden watch.. then chuck out that crappy golden watch and buy a multimillion dollar one!
@sir_blazeAlot: I smell... banhammer.
@Janaff: That was green acres theme.
This was hilarious! I think Don Knotts could have played Bill in the movie.
@sir_blazeAlot: Are you for real?
If the writers had kept the bit subtle as it started out, ie; with him leaving his shit on top of his car and the star wars figures thing it would've come off as much better. The celebrities added nothing but a self-conscious cringe vibe to the whole thing.
@sir_blazeAlot: looking for a short stay? this isn't even amusing as troll satire which I'm guessing your name references?
I'll be a little sad to see you go, though, because I myself enjoy a joke or two at Bono's expense, or rather the nationstate that is his ego.
But I must say your comments don't appear to add anything to this discussion, and as this is a pretty big news story available all over the web, please feel free and encouraged to bring your comedy stylings to one of those forums and not here.
@sir_blazeAlot: fire is the only way to destroy you.
Nice way to end your career bill. If i hadn't just seen WE'RE IN YOUR MANJUR KILLIN UR SAVIOR i would've called this the funniest clip of the month :p.
