The VRX MACH 4 is the only way we'll ever play Forza 2 again, since just looking at the setup has made us snobs. Four Xbox 360s run four copies of Forza 2 driving, you guessed it, four LCD displays (three front, one rearview). Bose and Harmon Kardon team up on the surround sound, and if all that audio doesn't shake you enough, there's a 1500 Watt Tactile Vibration Feedback System with 1900 Watt amp.
Chrome trim, LED lighting, cup holder...I need to stop writing about this thing...I'm in public. The full specs are after the jump—and who knows, maybe McWhertor will be lucky enough to spot these guys at CES for a bit of vicarious...drooling. We don't know the price, but then again, we kind of don't want to.

if i were rich, i would buy
@kw4k: scratch that, i would just go out and buy the real car(s)
Wow, I would rather have Gran Turismo 5 in that setup though.
I think I see the next "Win This" from Kotaku! Plz :)
This company will probably sell 5 of these. . .if they're lucky.
Cool but will this really make you a better Forza player or give you equal amounts of satisfaction for the cost?
It was looking good, but then came the Bose part.
Four 360's? How high would you're electricity bill be after playing this for a few hours?
$$$$
Why 4?
So that you can sell the other 3 :D $$$ ?!
I'll take a new Nissan GTR, thanks.
@hondo: But how much money do you have to have in the first place to get this?
1500 WATT TACTILE VIBRATION SYSTEM?!
I made a 75 watt system at home, and if I crank it 3/4 up with one transducer, it is EXHAUSTING, numbing, and probably unhealthy. Is this overkill with emphasis on kill, or I would home most of the power goes to the speakers?
It looks like a beautiful rig, but I have to take the obvious stab and say - 4 360s? Does that mean you have about a 120% chance of it breaking in the first couple years? :(
Virtual Wind System? Seriously?
@Rambozo:
Hey to each their own. But I have a set of Bose 901's in my setup and they are some kick ass speakers. Admittedly though I have no idea how good the Bose Acoustimass systems are.
If one 360 RRoDs does it ruin the whole set up?
@fuchikoma: @daddybojangles: Damn I thought we could make it through one whole thread.
This is awesome, but I think it's actually possible to go up to six screens(which would surround you entirely).
@hondo: And how would you hear the game over the noise of the dvd drives?
And talk about 'single point of failure' - as soon as one 360 red rings you've got a whole bunch of wasted TVs, speakers, and fancy aluminum tubes.
Of course if you're a car nut and you've got the cash this looks like a whole lot of fun.
lol on the website they call the fans a "Virtual Wind System"....they are just fans!
Nice setup though, but i'd never buy it...
They half-assed it - only one rear-view mirror!
@-EDGE-:
Bose speakers are overpriced, made of cheap parts, and have mediocre performance.
"Beverage Containment System"
Brilliant.
"We don't know the price, but then again, we kind of don't want to"
If you have to ask, you can't afford it
@DigitalHero: "Wow, I would rather have Gran Turismo 5 in that setup though"
Do you even know if GT 5 will support a 4 display setup?
Impressive, but ultimately it falls short because the one thing racing sims need to simulate the most just can't be done. Momentum. Until there is a racing sim that can make me actually feel like I'm drifting through a corner I don't see the point in these extravagant setups.
@NotAZombie: A 360 thread on kotaku and no mention of the RRoD??? Hearsay! Blashphemy! Shennanigans!
@Rambozo:
Again, to each his own. But I fail to see how the 901 could be one of the highest rated speakers on the market by just every audiophile or reviewer. Let alone just simply listening to the quality in person. Audio is largely a matter of opinion though (isn't everything?).
But I digress, the discussion is not about audio components it is about this kickass racing setup!
Carry on.
The fact they they even made this and give people options when ordering means that (hopefully) they have done some research and beleive that there is a market for it.....
And to those arguing about Bose, I personally have no idea but a friend of mine who is a stereo freak has a favorite saying, "no highs, no lows, must be Bose".
@DigitalHero:
exactly what i was thinking...
@hondo: Less electricity than two high-end video cards (to drive four screens) and less than four PS3s...
@DigitalHero: i would prefer GT5 too. FM2 is kinda meh for me
If you would actually put up the money for this, you're a moron. You'd be better off just going out and buying a fucking car.
Dumb.
@NotAZombie:
Sorry... I WANT a 360, but I can't convince myself it's worth it yet. It used to just be that most owners I knew had lost one, but IRL and online it seems the average owner is now on their THIRD unit! Nothing fails that much!
Sweet games, sweet specs, bad solder, atrocious cooling, hit & miss warranty support, and even if they fix all that, they still scratch discs without being moved. :/
It's not a loyalty issue - any day now I'm going to order some old and out of print 360 games so I'll have them when MS gets it right... I want to play now, I might even pay for Live against my better judgement, but that thing's a timebomb of defects. It has to be said so they hopefully don't (already?) decide it's more profitable to sell everyone 3 consoles and a couple of each game. I know they extended the RROD warranty, but too many people decide they'd rather buy a replacement today than wait weeks/months for a refurb.
Wow. Hey, at a tech demo at one of the last E3's, the PS3 was touted as being able to handle two displays at once. Is that still a feature?
Because I'd much rather run a GT5 rig on a pair of PS3's than this.
If someone is going to spend a fortune on this, why not get good speakers, instead of some awful Bose system?
You can get much better sound than that AcousticMass POS for half the price.
FYI, you need a separate xbox for each tv. One xbox can't process that much info. I remember hearing about it when 1up went to go test it out. They had the setup at the Forza offices.
While I'm sure Bose is a quality sounding speaker, I believe there are much better brands out there and they are just running on their name at this point.
This thing is $24,995. I saw it posted on a car forum for a sale directly from VirtualRacerX.com. Would be better off buying a trashed doner car that is not rusted with a chassis that can handle a V8, a high end V8 and invest a little bit of extra money polishing up the rest of the car. Then you can actually race..
Wait. 4 Xbox 360s and 4 copies of Forza 2...
What good does that do you exactly?
Is there some way to use that to have each 360 run in unison, displaying different parts of your view, and each one not just playing an entirely different session of the game?
As a college student studying programming, I know what I described is entirely possible, but it'd pretty much cost the consumer just as much as a real car, if not more.
Ahhh, Forza 2... Easily the best car simulator on the market (and in the forseeable future if the GT5 demo is an indicator).
It just happens that they forgot to make it fun.
It says 4 Screens in the Title, but the Article says it only has 3 Sharp Aquous LCDs...
@jajimo:
The 4th is the mini screen next to the steering wheel for rear view mirror.
Oh. Pfft, I'm not buying it then if it doesn't have 4 full sized screens.
Just needs to somehow simulate g-force and inertia - I'd say throw it on an old Galaxy Force 2 hydraulic cab FTW!

how do you link xbox360's? is there a titorial. or has this companey hierd its own set of engineers out side of Microsoft to make them work together. This is the only thing i have seen to reease to public inking xbox's seems like a waist of technology
Just think of how much of an elitist jerk you could be with that set-up.
Oi, worst thread title ever.
Bose is shit but the rest of the setup made me hard.
@daddybojangles: Yes, you have to throw it all away but on the bright side, I know the number of a service you can call that will come to your house and dispose of it for free.
It would be extra sweet if someone with absolutely no "skizzells" whatsoever bought this hoping it would compensate for such...and finding out it didn't.
I'm just curious why -4- 360s, I see the need for three, you have 3 displays; but what does the 4th handle? Do you really need a whole 4th system to handle the sound and other simulation load?
$10,000+
damn the budget, what we're doing is more important than money
I have the exact same setup, only without the TV and sound equipment. Hehe. I do have the VRX Racing seat though. It's awesome.
