If you weren't able to get your hands on a Wii this holiday season and you just can't bear to buy into the whole "rain check" thing, then may I suggest you beat feet down to your local Costco. Kotakuite Thomas K. sends in this pic from his local Costco taken just this very morning. The bundle goes for 344.99 and include the Wii, an extra nunchuck and remote and a copy of Brain Age for the Wii. So, fly my faithful readers and grab that Wii that you were so viciously denied.

Yay for being 2 months late!
two minutes and no posts... everyone must be running to their local costie. :)
got my wii, could've got my 360 today but I just *had* to order it online so I have to wait a few more days, I'll let my mom know since one of our aunts is still hunting for one.
@GUY_JIN:
Only to get there and find them all sold out to the scalpers!
:-o
$345? You can nearly get a Ps3 for that! Or a 360 with two great games (Forza 2 and Marvel Alliance). I just don't see a deal here.
Nah, the very concept of bundles sickens me. Especially the seven hundred dollar bundle at Toys R Us.
Wow... This is an awesome bundle and not overly jacked up in price!! I already have a wii but I would definitely get this bundle if I were any of you wii-less sad souls... GL!
lol, looked like that the launch day i got my Wii. waited 7 hours in line for it. 20+ people were there. it was wal-mart by the way.
and yet, all it does nowadays is collect dust...
or 1 of my 52+ gamecube games on it.
best of luck of who gets them.
didn't nintendo big PR guy slightly threaten people about bundling the wii o.o
@brello:
Costco ALWAYS sells in bundles. The only difference there is that their bundles are actually good. I don't see anything wrong with an extra Wiimote, Nunchuck, and a worthwhile game.
will the wii ever be readily available for 250 :(
@Dimipapa: If you wait 2 more years I'd say... Wii's demand is like how DS demand was in Japan last year/this year (sold out everywhere).
yea costco has never sold any console without a bundle, but they are usually pretty good about it and do have the best return policy around (90 days on electronics, no questions asked)
@brello: Yeah, I heard that. Do you remember the $1000 Gamestop bundles when the 360 first came out?
@Akmed: Man I still don't get the moaning I play my wii all the time and still have a lot to complete! Rediscovering Melee in my excitement for brawl didn't aid my progress but still GH3 and galaxy are keeping me quiet right now.
They're probably sold out near me. I have a Wii but my sister is borrowing it. She even bought controllers and games for it, so now I have to find her one.And no, I can't steal it back either because she's two counties over. Brawl comes out soon.
You can consider me nitpicky on this one but there is not a Brain Age for the Wii. Only the Big Brain Academy. But that seems like a decent deal considering what it comes with.
Reggie hates them!
@Erwin211:
Two whole counties! Seriously... that's not far unless you're in like Texas or Alaska...
Where's Reggie to stop this bundling madness?
THERE IS NO BRAIN AGE FOR THE WII!
@HykCraft: touche.
your right.
but there is a brain academy.....
:p
If you weren't able to get a wii by now, you aren't looking hard enough.
@Last_Raven: That's a lot if you don't have a working mode of transportation and you have to take the system back by force. It's a long walk.
Glad I got my Wii at Best Buy at normal price two months ago. Went in and the shelves were full of them. Kinda funny. Now if I could just find a game that I actually like. Sorry, Mario didn't do it for me. I suppose that's a normal price at Costco if you actually want Big Brain Academy - otherwise it looks like you're just wasting that 50 bucks.
Of course, I don't know what all the hubbub is about when stores are apparently fully stocked with Wu's, Waa's, and Vii's - as well as all major peripherals. I can get a Wu and a Shark Gun for the price of a Wii which PWNS it ALL DAY LONG!!!
Much better than the bundles flying around this time last year, that's for damn sure.
I bought mine at launch. =O
Neener neener.
There's a big difference between Brain Academy and Brain Age.. :)
Okay.. maybe not really.. but still. Get your information right before posting news items that don't make sense.
At first glance I thought that was a building...
Yeah well, I got mine a few months back knowing that it would be hell if I got it during the Christmas season.
250 (Wii) + 40 (remote) + 20 (nunchuck) + 50 (game at gamestop) = $360.
So yes, if you want Big Brain Academy for the Wii (haven't played it, can't tell give my .05 cents on it) this is actually a good bundle - it's almost a free nunchuck. Who would have thought?
<3 Costco.
@Saxboy: Sigh - should read "can't give you" or "can't tell you" as opposed to some bastard child of them both.
@Raynre: I'm a little gun shy about buying systems at launch since a certain system decided it wasn't going to be made very well a couple years ago. On my third replacement - it appears to be going the distance. My PS3 has held up like a champ, though.
Not trolling here fellas. Love my 360.
Costco consistently has come through on game consoles. They had a couple of palletes of these bundles before Christmas too. I saw lots of shopping carts with happy kids in them and yes, they're priced at a slight discount with the enclosed items. Each of which you would've likely bought anyhow. The best thing about the place is that it does require a membership, it's first come first serve, and stuff comes on a daily basis so it eliminates a lot of the usual hassle.
@Last_Raven: lol yea it can take me probably 2 hours to go through 2 counties here in Texas for the most part
@RJExcal: agreed. even when I've seen higher priced bundles at Costco like the PS3's ,it's bundled with things you would actually buy. Unlike Gamestops and Amazon who fill the bundles with product they can't move and you don't want.
USUALLY... Big Brain Academy was a wierd call. I don't think many kids had that on their XMAS lists...
while a bundle, this one's not bad. You get a second controller, which you'd get anyways and is a huge chunk of the $100 premium.
This bundle would have been the best bundle ever if it had Galaxy in it though, it'd be like an old school NES bundle.
@GUY_JIN: Local Costco is an hour away. I went food shopping. Yay Chicken.
This happened to my friend Mike in Alberta (you guys know Mike from Alberta, right?). He was in the Costco and saw a palette exactly like the one in the picture, and at the time, he didn't need a Wii (also, he said they had no PS3s or 360s at the time!!!)
The next week, he finds out his friend wants one for Xmas, and he goes back and they were (duh) all gone.
Sigh, I hate when people are forced to buy bundles for a console they want so badly. Facists.
Theres a Brain Age for the Wii?
I actually saw a palette of unbundled Wiis at the local Best Buy yesterday. First time I've ever seen them sitting on a shelf.
Did Flynn make a mistake, or did he seriously mean to say Brain Age and not Big Brain Academy?
Eeeww. I'm not paying $50 for Brain Age. When I buy my Wii, it's gonna be a SSBB bundle, or bundle-less.
@Erwin211:
True... But then again I would just say it's X miles or something and I don't have a car. That would make the point.
@Kirbytheslayer: The Vommiting Panda:
$50 for any Wii game not Trauma Center, SSB, or Mario Galaxy may be asking too much.
I found my Wii as a Costco bundle last year after Christmas (it had Excite Truck and Twilight Princess which isn't so bad)
My local Costco sez they don't have 'em -- and that even now, they sell out within a half-hour. Thanks for this post, though.
My nearest CostCo is 504 miles away.
With the Gamestop Wii's already showing up at the stores, and now there's Costco Wii's, it's as if the Grinch waited until the day after Christmas to return all the gifts to Whoville.
You're still a mean one, Mr. Grinch.
just in time for christ... uhh
brain age on the Wii? When did that come out?
That's not so bad a deal...
This is madness! I was at costco before I saw this post. Didn't see a sing wii.
Michael
While bundles are bad, most people will buy at least as much when they buy the wii. The last time we received a Wii shipping, out of the 50 consoles only 3 people bought only the machine, the rest bought at least 1 game and a wiimote(wiiplay)/nunchuck, most with the zapper and more wiimotes. This bundle is a good deal, while Big Brain Academy isn't that popular it's pretty fun to play with friends or family.
How can the Wii possibly take advantage of its 250 dollar US price tag if people keep wadding it into 350 dollar bundles??
