Many of you have probably come across the Calloftheday's video game boxes gone honest, but we wanted to point them out for those of you who haven't. Not all of them are side splitters, but we enjoyed this response to Star Wars Galaxies (and really, all Star Wars games) pictured here. We also enjoyed the "Same Shit, Different Year" title for Fifa 2008 or MotoGP's "Don't Drive After Playing This Game."
We also wouldn't mind the DualShock 3 being renamed "we lied, you do care" or Nintendo's friend codes going by something more catchy like "we want you to play with buddies IN PERSON, get it through your f'ing head already."
You say one thing, but you mean your mother. (VideoGame Box Art Edits 2) [via digg]

I really like the halo 3 one.
Quoted for truthiness.
Now I will have to go see if there's a Katamari one.
LOL!
BORING 2008 was my favourite... it's so true!
Great stuff.
Maybe not ALL Star Wars games fit this, but certainly the majority do.
Oh how I miss SWG pre-CU... come on pre-CU server hacking... it's almost a reality.
Man that was excellent.
So damn true about SWG!
@Elderwulf:
There already are Pre-CU servers out there run by people.
Lies ... SWG was never fun. Why the heck did I choose to be a droid engineer when none of the droids did anything?
lol, Half-Life 2. Fantastic game, but ironically NOT because of the physics engine... just the fantastic level design and shooting action. The physics were really just a plus.
Loved the Halo and Half-life 2 ones, but the MotoGP one takes the cake.
"Don't drive after playing this game."
Hilarious. :D
... Brutally honest!
I liked the HL2 one as well, but I also kinda thought it would've worked as "BUY A PC OR GABE NEWELL WILL EAT YOUR HOUSE."
@Throtex:
At least you could make droids and tell them to follow you and whatnot. Smugglers can't even smuggle. :p
The tomb raider one was pretty good. And their are so many to be thought of for h3.
/douses self in flame-retardant gel
I liked Hide and Seek 2: Sons of Liberty.
@ASchwarzenegger:
"REAL SEQUEL COMING SOON AFTER THESE WORDS FROM OUR SPONSORS", maybe?
Nah, Halo 3 wasn't that bad, I can't be that cruel. Well, I can, but, meh.
@ASchwarzenegger: /douses aschwarzenegger in gasoline
Better. j/k
Halo 3: "Screaming racist thirteen year old N00bs."
@Archaotic: Not that Halo 3 was bad, but it has some hiccups which could be exploited.
@blackadvent: That one fits better than they came up with.
@ASchwarzenegger:
I'm still reeling over the XBox Live Public debacle and how Kotaku NEVER managed to pick that story up. The potential PR nightmare it could've evolved into would've been a disaster for Bungie.
@Archaotic: Defiantly could have been a huge, hard kick to the nuts for Bungie
Hey does anyone know if there's a more fixed version of Angel of Darkness? I don't really blame the developers for how it turned out, as I believe they were basically told to ship. I only played a few moments of the newest, but found the voice acting character portrayal to be absolutely horrible. Course I actually snickered loudly(i'm an ass) at the Eidos booth at E3 when Angel of Darkness was being shown and they declared it was dark and serious... i don't know I guess they meant in the same way that Hot Topic is dark and serious... for that brooding lifestyle...
@naia: This is true ... I was at least able to pick up architecture or whatever it was an assemble buildings pretty easily, and made a ton of money doing that. Too bad pretty much all of the interesting features in that game were broken.
@ASchwarzenegger:
It's too bad, too, since if they'd been called to task for it instead of given a free pass by pretty much everyone, some of the problems with Halo 3's online multiplayer (namely the lack of freedom regarding custom games if you don't always have 20+ friends on and ready to play simultaneously) could've been fixed.
Ah, well. There's always next time.
Fifa one is great!
BORING 2008.
Just the title is wonderful.
It... It's so true... *cry*
I don't know what fun is, because I've spend 71 hrs "playing" FM 2008. Oh and 61 hrs with FM 2007. Football manager games are fun, when I don't feel like playing anything that requires my full attention.
Lol pihizicz.
SWG was never fun. I witnessed the last few months of beta and it was pure comedy watching the headless chicken Devs run around making sweeping changes to their barely started game, in the lead up to launch.
The game itself was garbage, plain and simple. People 'enjoying' it were just Star Wars fans suckered in by hype imo.
They should have changed Fifa 08' to " PES/Winning 11 is that way"
Who plays Fifa over PES/Winning?
