Seems a little unfair since the first we heard about it was from Kotaku Australia's Logan, but them's the breaks: Soldier of Fortune: Payback has been refused classification in Australia. Which in clearer terms means it's been practically banned, since nobody can sell the thing sans classification. It was due to be released here early next year. But now won't be. Because it's a bit too violent, apparently. For reference, Australia is the only "developed" democracy without an AO/R18+ rating for games, so games like this, which could/should have received such a rating, are instead banned outright.
