Wii Fever hasn't slowed in the Great White North as Canadian consumers snapped up over 50,000 units of the lil' white console last month. NPD Group sales data shows that the Wii and Nintendo DS are topping the hardware charts in the nation that tops our own, geographically. The dual-screened sibling clocked in with an equally impressive 45,700 units sold in June. This wasn't so much of a contest as it was a vicious bloodsport, with PlayStation and Xbox hardware sales paling in comparison.
The PlayStation 2 and PSP took spots three and four, selling 21,000 and 18,500 units respectively. The PLAYSTATION 3 continued to struggle, moving only 6,500 consoles, about 1/8 of the Wii's sales.
The Xbox 360 showed a respectable 13,500 unit sales, boosted by Forza Motorsport 2 and Guitar Hero II sales in the norther region. More figures, including some software rankings are at the full Gamespot report.
