After a nine year absence, Sega is once again establishing a presence on the world's smallest continent. Nintendo's PR and online director Vispi Bhopti has revealed to GameSpot that he will e leaving his job at Nintendo to help estalish Sega Australia in Sydney. Sega has not had an established prescence in the country since 1998, when they sold off control of Sega Ozisoft, now known as Atari Australia Pty Ltd. Such a tangled we these gaming companies weave, isn't it?
The only other information given pending an official announcement in the coming weeks was that former managing director of Ubisoft Australia Darren MacBeth would be heading up the new Sega offices. No concrete details on what exactly Sega Australia will e doing or how this will affect their Australian distriution agreement with THQ.
My guess? They're totally stalking Luke Plunkett, and honestly who could blame them?
