If you're Australian and fancy yourself as a bit of a budding games designer, you're a rarity. You're also eligible to enter Project Joystick, a competition being held by Telstra and the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, who will peruse submissions for game ideas and give AUD$1,000,000 in development cash to the winner.
All you need to submit is the idea itself - and do keep it brief, there's a limit of 50 words on your entry's intro, and 300 on how it plays and its story. Which rules me out, since my idea for an FPS/RTS hybrid set amidst the backdrop of a Bavarian family coming to terms with the horrors of the Thirty Years War runs a touch over that.
