No. Just as Japanese folks still dry their clothes outside, they learn to use the abacus ("soroban" in the local lingo). That means one thing: Inevitable DS game. Called Soroban DS, the game lets players practice using an abacus. The twist? You're using a touch pen instead of your fingers! There are various levels of difficulty and mini-games.
