This Day in Gaming, May 7th

1946: UPDATE. Sony is born. Everyone be nice to the PS3 and blu-ray for the rest of the day, please.

1997: Intel releases the Pentium II processor. The chips are faster than their Pentium counterparts and cheaper to produce. Does anyone out there have a touching PII story that they'd like to share with the group? Mayn\be by the time you upgraded, you could finally play Half-Life?

2003: Infogrames reorganizes their North American operations under the name Atari Inc. On one hand it's an absurd move as they can never really be "Atari". On the other, "Atari" is undoubtedly still one of the top five recognized game companies. And it's a lot easier to say than "Infogrames".
