PC gamers indulging in a spot of Shivering Isles can sleep (a little) easier tonight. If, you know...you were planning on sleeping, and not playing Oblivion. The game-breaking glitch which popped up a few days back has now been "fixed" with a "beta patch". Props for the speed of the fix, but just keep in mind what "beta" implies:

This is a beta patch. We strongly recommend you backup your save games and understand it may be necessary to re-install the game when the final patch is released. Additionally, you may experience issues with this patch.

Back that stuff up. I don't know what would happen if I lost my Oblivion save. Something awful, though, I'd bet. Only reference I've got is that a mate of mine once deleted another mate's FFVII game. 100 hours in. That didn't end well. It didn't end well at all. Luke Plunkett
