British children don't climb trees anymore. They play video games. And it's putting them in hospital. Which trees used to do. Those are the fascinating results of a statistics released by British newspaper The Daily Mail.
In 2006, 577 British kids ended up in hospital for RSI (Repetitive strain injury), a figure 35% higher than in 1999. The idea is that this could be due to kids spending more time on video games, and less falling perilously out of trees, since tree-related injuries are down 36%
I don't get their angle. Are they pro-tree? The kids are playing and ending up in hospital, can't we just be happy that's still the case and get on with our lives?
