I don't know why, but I've always found sound design really interesting. All that unheralded work and behind-the-scenes ingenuity...bravo! So it's nice watching something like this, which gives you a little insight into how all those gibs and headshot sounds are actually made.
The vid shows the sound team at work on Dark Sector take you through each step in the process of replicating the sound of a man's chest being torn open, head exploding and guts spilling onto the floor.
