We blogged about the five foot tall Mario statue last year, but were misled to believe they were limited to a batch of thirty. Not so! New York-based importer National Console Support (aka NCSX) is now taking pre-orders for the Mario monstrosity to anyone willing to pony up the $3000 (plus "very heavy" caliber shipping, of course). I've decided to be sensible and only order four.

While 59 inches of Mario may not be as appealing as, say, a hump pillow featuring your barely-clad female gaming character of choice, it's said giant Marios bring good fortune.

For those of you who can't handle sixty inches, you can always go for the more manageable twenty inch version. Not only is the pose more welcoming, the $200 price tag is far less painful. Michael McWhertor
