This Day in Gaming, March 16th

1995: SNK releases the Neo Geo CD in Japan. It's a follow up to the Neo Geo—an attempt to reduce production/consumer costs by ditching the cartridge-based technology and replacing it with a 1x CD drive. Anyone who played the original Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective can finish this st st stor this story can finish this story easily.

2004: Atari releases Unreal Tournament 2004 for PC in the US. The UT 2003+ editions make me sad. I never understood why gamers stuck to old versions of Quake until I played the updated UT...and got pwned...damn I hate that word. But it's even worse spoken.
