    Mario Galaxy: Two Players?

Way to find a way to increase excitement for this game, Nintendo. Yeah, thanks.

If Wii.com is to be believed (it is rather official, after all), Mario Galaxy is a two player gig. What does this mean? Co-op? Could a second player, pending the successful and perilous exchange of friend codes, play as Luigi or any other number of selectable, unlockable characters alongside Mario in the single player quest?

Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe they're going to throw a dozen minigames in, and they're multiplayer. Or maybe it's just a mistake.

But hopefully it's not! Fingers crossed, everyone, I'm sure if we all wish super-hard we can make this happen.

UPDATE: Here's an IGN article I missed from last year's E3 discussing, albeit vaguely, two player Mario Galaxy: "I think we'll be more inclined to do cooperative style of play".
