Podcasts are a largely awful thing. Awkward silences, bad editing, the grating voices of people who have no business broadcasting them, the fanboyish "roudtables"...yeah, mostly rubbish. I don't mind 1UP Yours, mind you, but one decent podcast out of, what, thousands? That's a pretty poor success ratio.

Which is why I feel moved to point out One Life Left. Because it's really, really good.

A sweet blend of light-hearted discussion, music, interviews and ridiculous features, One Life Left is unique in gaming and in radio. Guests and contributors include gaming industry legends past and present, many of whom produce regular features for the show under assumed names. Popular guests spots include Murder C Wrote, an insider's view of the games journalism industry, and Ms. Snacman, pun-laden recipes for gourmet gamingJust some nice, relaxed, light-hearted games discussion. It's presented by Ste Curran and Robert Howells, and also features a whole bunch of mystery industry people in cameo sketch comedy bits.

That about sums it up. Well worth an hour of your time, if only for the hatchet job they do on the pronunciation of Kotaku in the news segment. Not even close, lads. Sure Crecente will be thrilled you got his name right, though.
