
Not that the fact it's returning in of itself is news, but it's always tops to get details on this year's show, and it's even better when the organisers start making requests:
I'd like to see more 3D art — sculpture, woodwork. Fun stuff that's not expected. Paintings are the most common route, but I'd like to see more experimentation down the road. And I've taken some measures this year to influence a bit of that creativity. So, again, we'll have something VERY interactive at the show that'll blow people away, much like the giant 8-foot NES controller from 2005.
Hear that? Drop those paintbrushes. Sculptures are where it's at in 2007. This year's I am 8-bit show will run from April 17 until May 12 at Gallery Nineteen Eighty Eight in LA, but anyone attending GDC will be able to scope a few pieces early at a small preview exhibition they'll be holding at the conference.
