Gaming Concerts To Hit Sydney, Melbourne

Australians might remember last year's A Night In Fantasia concert series, which, while featuring heaps of classic gaming scores, was also sadly bogged down with a load of random anime rubbish. Perhaps sensing that an affinity for Mario does not automatically include a fetish for big-eyed schoolgirls with enormous mammaries, this year's concerts have been split, with the anime and gaming shows taking place on different nights.

    Fan-tastic.

Now imaginatively dubbed A Night in Fantasia: Symphonic Games Edition, the games show will feature a fuckton of gaming themes. Zelda, Mario, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Katamari, Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid and even WoW are just some of the titles featured, while guest composers include Yoko Shimomura (FFXIII, Super Mario RPG), Hitoshi Sakimoto (FFXII), Junichi Nakatsuru (Soul Calibur) AND Kow Otani (Shadow of the Colossus). That's the real deal right there.

Tickets are between AUD$40-$80, which is worth it just to see Otani (unless you live in Melbourne, that is...he's only turning up to the Sydney show). As a bonus, fans can meet the composers after the show, so stalkers, this is shaping up to be your night of nights. Hit the link below for more info or, if you're in Sydney, drop by Kinokuniya in the city.
