Yes, we've already mentioned the CNN interview with Shigeru Miyamoto, but I hadn't noticed this interesting little tidbit until Alice pointed it out.
Miyamoto's wife doesn't play games, at least not until recently. (How odd, given that she also worked at Nintendo.)
"My wife does not play any kind of games. I have tried to make her interested with various games like Tetris, but she has never showed interest, until recently," Miyamoto told CNN."But we're beginning to tear down the walls, starting with the Nintendo DS games. It was fun to watch."
I wish that were true in my house, my wife remains, despite the appearance of both a Wii and many DS in the house, a consummate anti-gamer. At least I'm not creating icons for the industry, because that would be painful.
I can't imagine the dinner conversations Mr. and Mrs. Miyamoto must have had before she finally decided to try a game.
