Let me be one of the first Americans to whine, jump up and down, and basically throw a little fit in honor of Europe's VC update this week, which not only features Super Mario World and Vigilante from the NA update, but also Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, the sequel to the original Legend of Zelda. This is the game that many call the black sheep of the series, as it featured side-scrolling action coupled with standard RPG staples such as experience points and magic spells.
Bit of a confession here...I never played this game. I got it for my birthday one year, but the cartridge was defective and I never got around to exchanging it because it didn't look anything like the original. I was a very picky little boy. Hopefully we'll get this here soon so I can see if I missed anything.
Nintendo Legends Headline Virtual Console!

But we don't want to give you just one legendary character - how about another? Get ready to draw your sword and join Link on his second epic adventure on NES, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link , available to download for 500 Wii Points. This game featured a brand new adventure and many elements that would later become essential features for the franchise.
As if that wasn't enough, Wii owners will also be able to download Vigilante , originally for TurboGrafx (PC Engine) from today. These join 46 classic titles already available for the Virtual Console in Europe. Since launch a staggering 1.5 million games have been downloaded worldwide from the service.
