We have an original Virtua Fighter machine at my work and after playing it a while, you kind of get used to the blocky characters and plain backgrounds. Certainly a huge difference from this clip from the Virtua Fighter 5 for the PS3. It looks absolutely beautiful, the characters are smooth and the backgrounds are wonderfully detailed.
I've rather lost my taste for fighting games these days. I got DOA 4 for my 360, but even those fine graphics aren't enough to make me really want to play it. I think the problem is, they are all starting to look alike. There's not much of difference the way there used to be. Ah, I long for the days of Soul Calibur and Rival Schools...
