GameSpot gives us a well-written feature reminiscing on Irrational Games' System Shock 2, the futuristic first-person Survival Horror game. On bringing the game to the first post-Columbine E3:

Mainstream reporters from local Los Angeles TV stations and newspapers roved the show floor, like sharks that had scented blood, in search of "violent video games" to point a camera at and run an alarmist cover story on.

Then at the end, they drop the scoop: now that Irrational is wrapping up Freedom Force vs. the Third Reich, their next project is System Shock-related. My guess is a Strategy RPG in the vein of X-Com. No, really, it is. OK, OK, it'll probably be a Grand Theft Auto clone.
