This Day in Gaming, January 14th

1987: Nintendo releases Zelda II: The Adventure of Link for NES in Japan. The game differed greatly from its predecessor, and went with a new side scrolling style. Accompanied with RPG elements such as experience points, this led to a certain TDIG writer having one of the biggest disappointments of his young life, right up there with finding out Santa wasn't real and the epiphany that I too would become as hair-covered as my father. Yet, I know that there are (crazy?) fans of the series who can't wait to explain why this is a fantastic game.

So let us know what you think about Zelda II: love it, or hate it.
