    Citing a highly-placed source, GameDaily is reporting that MTV is in negotiations with Ziff Davis Media to buy 1Up and possibly GameVideos.com.

    It is unclear if the negotiations include the dead tree publications owned by the Ziff Davis Game Group (EGM, Games for Windows, yada, yada, yada).

    The GameDaily story touches on the growing interest of MTV in the gaming sector from their sudden drop into game coverage to their acquisition of Guitar Hero developer Harmonix. Brian Crecente
