    Wii, PS3 Shortages Through March

    If you didn't get a PlayStation 3 or Nintendo Wii under the Xmas tree this year, don't fret. You'll probably be able to get one by March. Or June.

    That's when analyst P.J. McNealy says to expect stock of the Wii and PS3, respectively, to reach somewhat sane levels. Wait. June? Yeah. Obviously Sony needs to dedicate units to the European launch in March and with only 1 million units "in the pipeline" by end of year 2006 (which translates into an estimate 600K to 800K at retail) that makes it hard for Sony to spread the 4D-gaming love.

    Fortunately for PS3 hungry gamers, we're getting tons of anecdotal evidence (just like Reuters!) that indicates Sony's console is hitting store shelves, but not seeing the frothing demand of late November. Michael McWhertor
