Kutaragi "Promises" PSX v2.0

Sony has a bad habit of creating products that are novel and nifty, but are too fucking expensive for people to buy.

Case in point:

I was at the Sony Style store at our local mall, looking at all the nifty things. And they are nifty. Like a handheld, fully functional computer that costs $2,000. Or the Mylo, which is about $200 too much, considering it can't connect to cellular networks — I can get a Sidekick for at least that much and it'll do a lot more.

Or even the eReader, which — I will admit — I want. But it's just too god damn expensive.

Sony.

We can't just start giving you money unless you start giving us worthwhile investments.

PS3 Loses Another Exclusive, Virtua Fighter 5 Comes To 360

It's all about the money people. Game studios will develop on whatever platform(s) will net them the most units moved. The reason the NES/SNES had most of the exclusives because worldwide it had the largest install base. Sega only had a lead in the US. PS1/PS2 had the largest install base so more exclusives came out for that one. New generation now, so let's see who will have the largest install base now worldwide. Don't be surpised if a new Final Fantasy game comes out on the 360. Square-Enix is not what you would call the most loyal of game companies (check your console history).

Please, noone bring up my beloved Dreamcast. Sega mgmt waffled on if they wanted to stay in the hardware business or be software only. They only pushed the console in the beginning and then let it die a slow quiet death. They courted no 3rd party developers since they felt people would continue to buy the Dreamcast just because it was SEGA!

Clips: This PS3 Ad Is Only Slightly Annoying (Not Totally)

I don't understand where all the hate comes from for Sony and their commercials. As someone who works in the ad industry and is overly critical of all the ads I see on a daily basis, I think Sony hits the mark with their stuff, crying baby included. They're reaching out to a specific demographic who's looking for something a little out of the ordinary. That's what the PS3 is. Granted, the last line of the commercial is a bit smug and could have been left out, but otherwise I think this is another hit in Sony's commercial bag.

Of course, I suppose most of you appreciate the "Head On" commercials. That's a hard sell tactic, not this.

Islamic Group Wants Left Behind Game Pulled

Muslims believe in both Moses and Jesus (called 'Musa' and 'Isa' in Arabic). They also believed that the books they brought were the word of God, but were changed by the people (hence the different versions of the Bible). Old Testament = Torah, New Testament = Injil.

Muslims also believe that Mohammed was a descendant of Abraham (Ibrahim).

There are similarities between Judaism and Islam, thus an indication that they are pretty much religions from the same God. Muslims are even allowed to eat kosher meat if 'halal' meat is not available. Jews stopped believing in any Prophets when Jesus arrived, and Christians stopped believing in Prophets after Jesus. It's said that the Jews (or Christians, I am not sure) were given a prophecy that the final Prophet will arrive, but they couldn't fathom the fact that Mohammed was an Arab, and not a Jew..so they never believed in him.

Hopefully that clears up some misconceptions. And yes, I am a Muslim, though a non-practicing one.
