Football Coach Blames PS2 For Crap Players

Steve McClaren (England), Lawrie Sanchez (Northern Ireland), John Toshack (Wales) and Walter Smith (Scotland) are the manager's of Britain's four national football/soccer teams. When they speak, at least in Britain, they speak with a bit of clout. So it's a shame that when all four got together for a sponsor's event at a primary school, one of them has gone and blamed the PlayStation for the dip in standards of British football.

Sanchez, the Northern Ireland boss, said:

When we all grew up, we didn't have Playstation, or PS2 or 24-hour TV....so we played football (soccer). If my son played football (soccer) as much as he does with his Playstation, he'd be a better player if 's a fact of life

Rubbish, Lawrie. You're from Northern Ireland, who have produced exactly one world-class footballer in their entire existence. It's not video games that's stopping your son from being a better player, it's the fact he's from Northern Ireland.
