File this under "D" for highly dubious, but a couple of Italian gaming sites are claiming that Gears of War is being held back in Europe until December 7, in order to "counter" the launch of the Wii. There might also be some stuff in there about localisation issues affecting the game's European release, but Babelfish isn't always the trustiest steed.

Why Microsoft would do this is beyond me. Which is why I call BS. Then again, you can never discount murmurs of European delays, as there's quite a precedent for it, I hear. Luke Plunkett
