Nestled into an otherwise boring article about those fucking Burger King games — specifically, Blitz Games' intention of releasing Burger King themed arcade games over XBLA as well as their retail title — is this little comment defining what we can expect from PlayStations NoName Online Service:
"Sony is going to put much bigger memory limits and footprints on its downloads. It is not going to go the retro route - in fact Sony says it wants its games to be around the same price, but to be higher quality," he revealed."From what we've seen so far, Sony have got less product, but it is higher quality than Xbox Live downloads. It's setting the entry barrier higher, which we don't have a problem with because we want to do high-end games..."
Like games about a creepy, waxen faced ghoul who likes to hide in people's garbage cans. Right. But that's actually refreshing: Sony isn't intending on ejaculating antiquated retro games, "classic" after "classic", all over gamer's communal tits. Original, indie games is what XBLA should be; it's encouraging to see Sony may very well be picking up the ball Microsoft has fumbled.
