No surprise here after the 1UP guys drunkenly dropped mention of it in their podcast a couple of weeks ago: Oblivion is coming to the PS3. More surprising? It's coming to the PSP too.
Apparently, the PS3 version of the game will be a 360 port, but with a new faction introduced called the Knights of the Nine, described by Bethesda as "the good Dark Brotherhood." Your aim is to become the Divine Crusader, a warrior-priest hybrid.
More interesting is really the news of a PSP version of Oblivion, taking place in the Elder Scrolls Travels series of mobile and handheld games. Not much is known except the game plays very similarly to Oblivion proper, but in a completely different setting. Otherwise, there's not even any word if the game is 3D.
Oblivion for the PS3? Yawn. We've already played it a year ago, guys. But a portable Oblivion title? If it can manage the quality of the original, that's quite the coup for the PSP. There seem to be a lot of reasons developing lately (like Vice City Stories and Silent Hill: Origins) to actually buy one.
Oblivion Heads to PS3, PSP [1UP]
Ed's note: We actually broke the news of the PSP getting Oblivion back in July, this is just the official confirmation.
