2001: Nintendo releases the Gamecube in Japan. The console sells just 4 million units in Japan, but they still love Nintendo over there. The Japanese love their Nintendo like a fat kid loves Nintendo cake. I like the Gamecube, though I never played Luigi's Mansion (which also came out today).

2004: Microsoft Game Studios (and Lionhead) release Fable for Xbox. It's a hyped RPG with interesting character elements that ends up having very short gameplay. Some reported loading the title screen, hitting start, and going right to the credits - which would have been great if you could get the live points.

2005: Sony Pictures releases Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children in Japan. It's a movie sequel to a videogame - which is a pretty cool idea. Ok reviewers, go at it. What did you think? Mark Wilson
