1988: Nintendo releases Nintendo Wars in Japan for NES. It's a turn-based strategy game from which the Fire Emblem series spawned. Nintendo Wars should not be confused with the similar, real, Nintendo console war - where it looks like Nintendo won't be phased by Sony's bomb.
1988: Konami releases The Adventures of Bayou Billy for NES in Japan. Besides the game being hard as *#&$, the cover art was changed from the original Japanese release when the game came to the US. The box art was considered too similar to Crocodile Dundee, so the Americans got a hillbilly instead of a badass Paul Hogan wannabe.
1995: Disney Interactive releases Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow for Genesis in Europe. See? We care about our friends across the pond, and will actually publish your release dates once in a while. You just never get the good stuff first. It's a sad state of affiars when you have to be thankful for Maui Mallard.
