It isn't only bitter, Ascot-wearing bloggers like Florian who are getting in jabs at Sony. The localization team at game publisher Atlus are doing likewise. Take a look at this Sony E3 press conference dig that's shown up in the English version of the Earthbound-like RPG Contact for the Nintendo DS. The line "Try to hit his weakpoint for massive damage!" is an homage historically insane PS3 crab game. Localizer Tomm Hulett tells Joystiq:
I'll be honest, I can't really speak for the Professor. He has a mind of his own, and he's sure to say all manner of crazy things as you play through Contact. It certainly seems like he's up on his gaming news, though, doesn't it? I have heard that battles in Contact ARE based on actual battles which took place in space, though, so who knows.
Wow, what a snarky bastard. Tomm would totally feel right at home at Gawker Media.
