British monthly men's fashion and entertainment mag Arena doesn't seem to like the Wii. Apparently while the rest of us were rushing to "join the blanket of praise" the Arena author decided to take a more thoughtful approach to his time with the Wii.

The writer points to a number of issues he has with Nintendo's next-gen console including that fact that sometimes he just doesn't want to wave his hands around to play a game, that you need a big screen to enjoy the Wii and you need wide open space to play.

Just what was this guy smoking? The Wii certainly has issues (the controls are still a little wonky and rear-projection televisions are going to be a huge issue) but he manages to not touch on any of them. If you're going to bash a console at least make sure it's for stuff that will be an actual issue. Brian Crecente
