"Sega Will Once Again Be The Biggest Brand"

Sega Europe's creative director Matt Woodley talked strategy with GameSpot. The company has been on a buying frenzy of late, gobbling up Total War developer Creative Assembly and Football Manager creator Sports Interactive. Sega's also doubled the size its Racing Studio outfit. Woodley explains that this is part of the company's strategy to improve its release schedule by working with the best developers internationally. Continuing, the corporate cheerleading Woodley says:

I think that Sega is in a completely different position to most publishers in the industry. We have a genuine vision and the support of the most dynamic and intelligent executives I have come across. Sega is part of a large Japanese group—Sega Sammy Holdings—and the desire of our board is that the company succeed, and we have been given the appropriate resources to do that. It will take time, but I'm totally confident that Sega will once again be the biggest brand in video games—worldwide.

Is this guy talking out of his ass or does Sega really have what it takes to recapture its former glory and once again be the shiznit?
