I'm really not sure that I've got the pocket protection credentials to report this. However, when Dirk van den Brink, Jr. needed to fix his friend's dropped Xbox, he found himself in a bit of a conundrum: you need an EEPROM to replace a dead hard drive, but you can't get the EEPROM with the hard drive being dead. So instead of buying a $10 modchip, he came up with an innovative solution involving a handful of wires, some 4.7K resistors and an empty Spearmint Altoids tin. Fucking MacGuyvers.
