We recently reported that Apple is attempting to raise the iPod out of gaming's gutter. With Apple being the super paranoid company that it is, details are scant: there's something about a former Lucasarts technical director and an iTunes group of "coders with a gaming background." Apparently, there is some truth to these rumors as an insider just pinged us, providing more details on the situation. According to our insider:
Whoever is handling the head of gaming for iPod 'platform' hasn't been very helpful. And putting games in it hasn't been the most fun thing to do.
This all seems like an afterthought, really—Apple shoehorning games onto a music device. And honestly, what kind of results can we expect from that?
