It's Day 2 of the Electronic Entertainment Expo and Team Kotaku E306 is live in Los Angeles taking stomach-distending slugs from the gaming news margarita machine.
Joel's Press Room Mini-Blog
Hey, everybody! With such a surfeit of gaming news this week, we'll be updating this post throughout the day with the break out stories from our continuing coverage. Check it out!
Ah, my beautiful captain from Earth... Last night's party was a blast—thanks to everyone who came on out to Le Gopher du la Golden (I don't actually know any French). But now we've got to wash out our eye crust with Listerine and hit the mean streets of LA to get the real dirt. Don't miss Kotaku's Day 1 coverage, including (sort of) big name interviews, hands-on impressions and lots of great new game announcements.
Later... Join us again in our Campfire web-based chat to discuss all the news that's breaking at this year's E3. Plus, I'll be popping in as I can to hand out comment invite codes!
Much later... Things are humming along, although the manic pace of yesterday has gotten just a hair more mild. But that's not to say we don't have more in store for you! In fact, Crecente and I are getting ready to go have a sit down with a certain mushroom-obsessed game designer you might have heard of...
Much, much later... So we got to sit down with Miyamoto and chat, which was great. (Yeah, I'm supposed to be objective, but meeting Miyamoto is like shaking the hand of the man who invented the orgasm; I mean, it's not sticky or anything; That's not what I'm saying. You know what? It's time to abort this metaphor.)
Anyway, I got to say hi to Koji Kondo, composer of some of the most catchy tunes—including the lion's share of the Mario and Zelda classics—ever. I'm sure meeting me will inspire him for years to come.
Also! We've had tons and tons of content going up this week. I've been putting the highlights up here on the top of this post, but I've also added a round up of this week's post, by title, in their entirety, after the jump. Don't miss all the hard work from Team Kotaku!
Much, much, much later... Jeez and crackers—I'm bushed. Paris Hilton, Shigeru Miyamoto, and Adam West in a single day beat the timid, bleating seal that is my sense of pop culture appreciation around more than a game of polar bear volleyball. (The BAWLS Mints—verdict: Of un-disclaimed potency!—probably aren't helping.)
We're going to suck at Sony's teat tonight at the second-tier party—we still don't rate for either Microsoft or Sony's A-List swanky parties—and enjoy some much needed relaxation.
Good thing, too, because there's still a lot more news to post tonight and tomorrow. Stay tuned! On your web browser, I mean! Tune it to Kotaku.com, I'm saying!
