Alright, the E3 excitement is starting to trickle in. Gaming's warrior slash but I've never even killed anyone slash poet Hideo Kojima spilled the beans on the latest episode of HIDECHAN! Radio that a new Metal Gear Solid game will be coming to the PSP in 2007.
The game will take place in 1970, with Big Boss as your avatar, and will involve the nascent days of Foxhound. This isn't going to be some Metal Gear Acid card battle fake-out: Kojima promises a bona fide sequel, starting up right after Metal Gear Solid 3 lets off and featuring graphics on par with the PS2 games.
Interestingly, it sounds like Kojima intends on infusion some real-time strategy into the mix: Big Boss will control a limited number of troops. When these troops die, they are gone for good. Even more draconian, the game will apparently not feature continues. Permadeath all around!
If that sounds like a total joke, take heart — Kojima also promises wifi multiplayer.
