We got burned when we reported that the Oblivion Orrery mod may not suck, so we're remaining skeptical that the latest restore from Bethesda's recycling bin, The Wizard's Tower, is actually worth paying for. Yet against all odds, that's exactly what 1UP is claiming: early Wizard's Tower buzz is good.
Unlike Orrery, the Wizard's Tower mod doesn't promise a hell of a lot, simply a place for magic users to hang their Gandalfian hat and a familiar to summon. WHich may be exactly why it's going over so well: enough new content to justify a small micro-fee, but not just a color replace on an existing texture. And, of course, smashing your hob-nailed boots into the faces of gamer's expectations until they curse you with their very life's breath can go along way towards making them happy when you only crap in their face.
