Heterosexuality firmly in check, I was one of those guys who actually really dug The Longest Journey. That I could play it without confirming all my girlfriend's suspicions about the bloodthirsty misogynism of men was a plus: instead of doing what she normally did when I played games — make exasperated sighing noises and having loud discussions on the telephone with her mother about her being right that I wasn't the marrying type — she actually played it with me. It was the perfect boyfriend/girlfriend game, if only because what self-respecting guy could figure out the early puzzle where you need to use a pair of pliers, an inflatable duck, a belt and a diaphragm to get a key out of a subway tunnel?
Anyway, we've been anxiously looking forward to Dreamfall, The Longest Journey's upcoming sequel. So we were pleased to see this fresh lathering of new Dreamfall screenshots over on Worthplaying. The art design certainly looks as beautiful as the first. Let's hope they got rid of the pallid, dead-eyed mutants in the cut scenes this time.
