With the announcement lingering tomorrow and NDA's gagging journalists, information surfaced today from Japan that the PS3 launch across the sea would be delayed until November '06. The reasons being cited on the wire concern Blu-Ray copy protection.
What does this mean for U.S. consumers? We won't really know until tomorrrow. But if you think the glass is half full, you're probably thinking this means that Sony's PS3 will launch simultaneously in North America and Japan - which would be a first for Sony. If you're a glass half empty person, this news means that you won't see a Sony PlayStation 3 on North American shelves until sometime in early-2007.
The outcome isn't relegated to these two options, but right now, these seem like the most likely. Stay tuned.
