The farming RPG Harvest Moon for the Nintendo DS offers a plethora of new features and functions says the new issue of Nintendo Power. Kotaku tipster Ben scanned the article, giving us the low-down. While the game will offer the usual farming, farming and more farming, here's what's new:
1). Save the Harvest Goddess
The evil Witch Princess has banished the 101 Harvest Sprites and the Harvest Goddess to another world. Work hard and save each Harvest Sprite one-by-one, culminating in the Harvest Goddess.
2). Woo a Witch
Forgot those regular townie girls. Harvest Moon DS has dangerously cute Witch babes available for marriage.
3). Be in Two Places at Once
Taking advantage of the dual screens, the game lets player search for things in town while still doing their daily chores in the upper screen.
4). Touch Your Animals
A farming game that lets players rub and pet their animals. There's also cow-milking and sheep-shearing to be done.
5). Hit up the Casino
Horse races are out. Blackjack and poker are in. This Harvest Moon title boasts a casino. Cool? You bet.
6). Hire Harvest Sprites
Not only befriend Harvest Sprites, but hire them to do your dirty work.
7). Save Anywhere!
Self-explanatory.
8). Talk Trash
When characters have a rotten day, they now show it. Bring on arguing, taunting and dissing.
9). Phone It In
Finally, Harvest Moon has made life easy for consumers. It's no longer necessary to travel from shop to shop. Instead, order goods over the phone.
10). Teleport on the Fly
While in the GBA versions, players spent eons looking for the hard-to-find Teleport Stone that gave the ability to jump around to different places on the map. The DS version offers this goody early on for purchase in the casino.
Not only fun, but hassle-free gameplay. Nice to see a sequel not resting on its name. Harvest Moon DS drops this summer.
