Legendary (and batshit insane) former Nintendo Japan president Hiroshi Yamauchi has reportedly donated nearly $60 million of his own money to Kyoto University Hospital.
Yamauchi is famous for, amongst other things, taking over Nintendo at age 19, before firing all his family from the board. He also famously likened Microsoft's entrance into the game business to America entering Vietnam: an endless pit of failure. Glad to see he also has a soft side then.
Rumours that Yamauchi donated the cash for the constuction of a new cryogenic wing could not be confirmed.
